There has never been a shortage of opinions about the Bible. What there is a shortage of are faithful men who can clearly communicate what the Bible actually says. One of the greatest burdens God has placed upon my heart is not only studying the Scriptures, but helping others understand them. Truth deserves to be communicated with clarity. If God has spoken, His people ought to understand what He has said. That conviction has shaped my preaching, my teaching, my writing, and now these Teaching Packs.

Over the years, I have preached in churches, taught in Bible institutes, led Sunday school classes, and spoken at conferences. Along the way I accumulated hundreds of outlines, lecture notes, illustrations, charts, and teaching materials. Many of those resources were created simply because I wanted to explain a difficult doctrine in a way that believers could grasp. Eventually I realized that if these materials had helped my students, perhaps they could help others as well.

I have never been much of a PowerPoint teacher. For most of my ministry I preferred simply opening my Bible and teaching verse by verse. I still believe the authority is in the Scriptures, not in a screen. But a few weeks ago I was teaching at a church in Texas and decided to accompany the Sunday School lesson with a carefully prepared presentation. Something happened that surprised me.

As I taught, I noticed people who had seemed somewhat disengaged when I was there before, suddenly pulling out their phones, not to check messages, but to photograph the slides. They wanted the definitions. They wanted the charts. They wanted the outlines. They wanted something they could take home and study later. That moment reminded me that visual teaching, when used properly, does not compete with biblical preaching; it reinforces it. Good visuals help people organize information, retain doctrine, and remember truth long after the lesson has ended.

That experience strengthened my desire to produce resources that are both biblically faithful and visually engaging. Every Teaching Pack is designed to help communicate eternal truth in a way that is organized, memorable, and easy to follow without sacrificing sound doctrine. The objective is never entertainment. The objective is understanding.

That is how The Watchman’s Warning Teaching Packs were born.

My goal is not to replace your study. Quite the opposite. These Teaching Packs are designed to complement it. Every teacher has a God-given responsibility to study and rightly divide the word of truth. No outline, lecture, or set of slides can substitute for time spent in prayer, careful reading, meditation, and personal examination of the Scriptures. I would strongly encourage every teacher who uses these materials to study them thoroughly before ever standing behind a pulpit, lectern, or classroom podium. Make the lesson your own. Verify every passage. Follow every cross-reference. Add your own illustrations. The Lord called you to teach His people, not merely read someone else’s notes.

Think of these Teaching Packs as tools rather than finished products. A carpenter still needs skill even when he owns quality tools. Likewise, these resources are intended to save you from spending countless hours formatting handouts, building PowerPoint presentations, and organizing lessons so that you can devote more of your energy to understanding and communicating God’s Word.

One conviction has guided this entire project from the beginning: God’s truth is too important to keep to ourselves. Because of that, I gladly give my express written permission for these Teaching Packs to be used as widely as possible. Print the handouts. Project the slides. Teach the outlines. Use them in Sunday school classes, Bible studies, discipleship groups, Christian schools, mission fields, nursing homes, conferences, prisons, youtube videos, or anywhere else the word of God is being faithfully proclaimed. My desire is not to limit the spread of these materials but to encourage it.

The only thing I ask is that they not be resold. Beyond that, I hope they find their way into as many churches and classrooms as possible. If they help one parent, preacher, or teacher explain a difficult doctrine more clearly, and if they help one believer better understand the Scriptures, then they have accomplished exactly what I hoped they would.
