The Greatest Illusion in the World Today: Wrongly Attributing the End-Time Crisis to the Jews
The present world is rapidly descending into an unprecedented age of spiritual darkness. War, financial instability, technological surveillance, religious convergence, and the movement toward global governance may appear, on the surface, to be separate phenoProgmena; in reality, however, they are jointly preparing the conditions for the final scenario foretold in Scripture. As Matthew 24:6–8 declares, the prelude of the end times will be marked by “wars and rumours of wars,” and “nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
Yet in the midst of all these upheavals, one of the most widespread and dangerous delusions is the claim that the root cause of global turmoil lies directly with the Jews, as though the nation of Israel itself were the ultimate source of the world’s disorder. Such an assertion is mistaken not merely because it is politically crude, but more fundamentally because it is spiritually blind to the true center of the end times.
According to Scripture, the central issue of the last days has never been the supposed independent domination of the world by one particular people. Rather, it is the manner in which the whole world is being prepared to embrace false Christs, false peace, and false worship. Revelation 13:3–8 describes how the world “wondered after the beast,” and how “all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him.” Second Thessalonians 2:3–12 further reveals how that “man of sin,” the “son of perdition,” will deceive those who perish through “power and signs and lying wonders.”
To reduce all end-time confusion to “a Jewish problem,” therefore, is not only an inadequate explanation of Scripture’s prophetic picture, but a distortion that obscures the true focal point of opposition. The greatest crisis of the end times is not the existence of any one ethnicity, but the worship of the beast by the whole earth, the acceptance of lies, and obedience to the one who exalts himself as God. The real danger is that the entire world will lose spiritual discernment and, under false miracles, false peace, and false piety, be drawn collectively into the Antichrist system.
Israel’s place in the end times is indeed crucial, but she is not the architect of the final evil order. On the contrary, she is the nation temporarily permitted, within God’s redemptive purpose, to remain in a state of spiritual blindness until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in, after which God will turn again to her and fulfill His promises to the fathers. Romans 11:25 states this plainly: “blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”
Thus, from a genuinely KJV-based eschatological framework, Israel’s present condition is not that “she has already seen fully,” but that she still remains in a state of blindness in part. Politically she has been restored; militarily she has become strong; yet nationally she has not generally acknowledged Jesus Christ as her true Savior. This is precisely why Romans 11:26–29 continues, “And so all Israel shall be saved,” and affirms that “the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
In other words, Israel is not the designer of the great end-time deception, but the nation that is first utilized, then persecuted, and finally saved. Zechariah 12:10 prophesies that “they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” Jeremiah 30:7 calls that future period “the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.”
